Southbury Running Club provides an environment, appropriate for all abilities, that promotes the growth of our running community and offers a non-competitive setting to attain our goals. The outcome of the weekly runs is intended to be individually purpose-driven and may range from working towards your first 5K or setting a PR at your next marathon.

Running is essentially putting one foot in front of the other, and our club creates a setting that helps all of us learn to run, run faster, run more efficiently or simply run for the shear joy it creates.

Even the experienced distance runner had that first day s/he stepped outside and decided to try running. And, even that first-timer may have an experience that will motivate even the seasoned runner. It’s about the creation of a running community that brings us together to share what we know and love about running – an environment that incorporates fun into achieving our goals as runners.

We meet at The Rathskeller located at 88 Main Street South in Southbury on Tuesday evenings (for all members), Thursday evenings (women only), and Saturday mornings - also for all members. Please see Membership Information for more details.

The proceeds from our club support LIVESTRONG.

At the Lance Armstrong Foundation, we inspire and empower people affected by cancer. We believe that unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. Read our Manifesto. We provide the practical information and tools people with cancer need to live life on their own terms. We take aim at the gaps between what is known and what is done to prevent suffering and death due to cancer. We unite people to fight cancer and pursue an agenda focused on:

Prevention

Access to screening and care

Improvement of the quality of life for cancer survivors

Investment in research

Founded in 1997 by cancer survivor and champion cyclist Lance Armstrong, the LAF is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Austin, Texas.
